Health and well-being
The COVID-19 pandemic brought concern for our employees’ and their families’ well-being to new levels, and we prioritized their health and safety in 2020. We shifted 95 percent of our employees to remote work and provided technology, benefits and resources to help them acclimate to new ways of living and working.
• Created a new paid leave benefit to manage uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic • Issued $500 stipends to purchase or defray the cost of at-home office furniture
• Provided free breakfasts and lunches for essential on-site employees
• Medical plans covered testing and treatment of COVID-19 at 100 percent
• Installed needlepoint bipolar ionization technology to improve air quality in our buildings
• Shared multiple educational, counseling and support resources for coping with pandemic-related circumstances
Looking ahead
As the pandemic continues, we’ll continue reimagining the ways we work and support each other so we can promote the well-being of our Securian Financial family.
